⛳ Seo Seoul Country Club Night Golf Review & Guide (Paju, Korea)

๐ŸŒŸ Why Play Night Golf at Seo Seoul CC?

Seo Seoul Country Club is one of my favorite night golf locations. Just a 40-minute drive from central Seoul, it offers reliable service, decent food, and most importantly — excellent lighting. Lighting quality makes or breaks night golf, and unlike some other clubs with poor setups, Seo Seoul CC’s LED system is strong enough that it never distracts from play.

It is a typical mountain-style course — if you aim toward the hills, you might even get “saved” by a friendly bounce. Being an older club (opened in 1993), it also has the traditional two-green system, so the experience can differ depending on which green is in play. Seo Seoul CC is officially a membership-only club, but tee times can sometimes be booked through phone reservations or via the KakaoGolf app.

๐ŸŒ™ Night Golf Notes

  • LED lighting is excellent — visibility is never an issue.

  • Payment system: For night rounds, players are asked to settle payments before finishing the round. Bags can be loaded into the car before heading to the lobby for payment, so the flow is smooth.

Just look at the bright lights!

๐ŸŒ️ My Round (Aug 17, Night)

So I played the right green today. Honestly, it felt harder than the left — maybe it’s just me, but that’s how it seemed. Anyway, I ended up with a 98. If I hadn’t completely blown up on the last hole, I would’ve been safe in the 90s… but nope, almost crossed back into triple digits.

And yeah, I know, I literally said earlier the course wasn’t that hard. So why did I mess it up? Well, lately I’ve only been playing courses in Incheon (oceanside courses - way less undulation), and every time I come to Seo Seoul, my second-shot stance is never flat. Doesn’t matter if the drive is good or bad, I’m always hitting from some awkward lie — downhill, side slope, even right next to the cart path. Add in a bunch of pulled drives, and yeah, it got messy real quick.

Somehow I still avoided reaching 100 thanks to my short game, but here’s the kicker: GIR 0%. Yep, didn’t hit a single green in regulation. At first I thought the app was broken, but nope, it was just me sucking. The hilarious part is that with GIR 0%, my putting average was still 1.7. Turns out if you never actually hit greens, you don’t get that many putts to begin with ๐Ÿ˜‚.

There were a couple of bright spots, though. My irons were going a decent distance, I actually made some divots (yay me), and my approaches were getting compliments. But since my driver kept pulling and losing distance, I was stuck hitting longer clubs like a 7-iron for approaches — and with my aim, distance, and direction all over the place, of course I didn’t land a single green. GIR 0% is something I never even imagined possible in my own app, but hey, I went and did it.

๐ŸŽฏ Conclusion

Seo Seoul Country Club isn’t the flashiest or newest course near Seoul, but it delivers exactly what you want from a classic Korean golf experience: strong caddie support, clean facilities, and a mountain course layout with personality.

  • Facilities: ★★★★☆

  • Course Difficulty: ★★★☆☆

  • Round Experience: ★★★★★

  • My Skill (this day): ★★★☆☆

Final verdict: GIR 0%. Even my own golf app (Fairway Journal Pro) wasn’t prepared for that statistic ๐Ÿ˜‚

If you’re visiting Seoul and looking for a convenient night golf option with reliable lighting and traditional Korean golf culture, Seo Seoul CC is definitely worth a round.
